Chicago-based band Guppy have shared ‘A Voicemail for the Mayor’, the newest single off their upcoming album Big Man Says Slappydoo. The monitor follows earlier choices ‘Alien’, ‘If I Wanted To’, and ‘I’m Your Daddy Now’. Test it out under.
“This was my try at writing a love tune with my totally fashioned grownup mind,” the band’s J Lebow defined in an announcement. “I typically shrink back from love songs as a result of one thing about love doesn’t really feel like an emotion that belongs to me so how may I probably have a viewpoint on it? “A Voicemail to the Mayor” is an avoidant attachment model anthem. I used to be beginning to actually catch emotions for somebody after an extended interval of intense private progress, and I felt really afraid that falling in love would rob me of all that progress. That is form of a joyful mood tantrum of insisting I don’t need love whereas actively falling into it.”
Guppy’s new LP, which was produced by Sarah Tudzin of illuminati hotties, arrives on April 22 through Lauren Records.
